Geoffrey Moreland (1895-1986) Oil on Canvas of a horse rearing probably at racehorse sale. An Attractive and vibrant picture. Tiny hole to canvas on leaders arm no great effect.
Geoffrey Moreland painted in oils of horse subjects. He was born in Norwich. He found an avenue for his work through a local art dealer, Butcher and Son and also recived several commissions for portraits. His picture hang in Norwich Museum, City Hall and Lads Club. He was influenced by Sir Alfred Munnings, which can be seen in this work.
