Marion L Bloom (1878-1962) – Still life of flowers in a jug, signed and bears label , watercolour and gouache.
British floral and landscape painter, mainly in watercolour.
Born in Norfolk, she later lived in High Wycombe, Bucks. Broom was not only a talented artist but, having attended the Royal College of Music, she sang in opera for a time. Her works have been exhibited not only in Britain, but all over the world and were purchased by Queen Mary.
She exhibited extensively between 1925 and 1939 – at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Cambrian Academy, Royal West of England Academy, amongst many others and was elected to the British Watercolour Society in 1924.
