Dimensions:
A charming pair of late 19th–early 20th-century hand-coloured lithographic silhouettes depicting French Napoleonic officers in full dress uniform. Each figure is shown in crisp profile and richly detailed with gilt epaulettes, braid, buttons and sword hilt — a decorative revival of the earlier Georgian silhouette tradition, but executed with Victorian/Edwardian colour and finesse.
These uniform plates were produced circa 1890–1910, inspired by classic French military costume engravings. The pair have wonderful period character and are presented in gilt frames with oval mounts, displaying beautifully side by side.
Perfect for a study, hallway, library wall or any interior with a historic or military flavour.
