Dimensions:
A beautifully proportioned early 20th century English fireside fender, crafted in solid walnut and recently reupholstered in luxurious GP & J Baker velvet.
The frame displays the soft, flowing grain and rich tonal variation characteristic of walnut, with gently shaped supports and a subtly scalloped apron that give the piece quiet elegance. The timber has a wonderful warmth and depth that pairs beautifully with the velvet upholstery.
The seat has been professionally reupholstered in a deep teal GP & J Baker velvet. The natural pile of the velvet creates tonal variation depending on the direction of light, giving the surface depth and movement — a hallmark of high-quality cotton velvet.
Its generous length makes it ideal for a traditional fireplace, though it would work equally well as a low window seat or decorative bench in a hallway or bedroom.
Condition: Excellent overall condition. Newly upholstered. The walnut frame shows light, age-appropriate wear consistent with an early 20th century piece.
