An Early 19thc Gilded and Hand Carved Mirror. English but very much continental style. Possibly it was made by a continental craftsman as many relocated to England to escape persecution. The floral decoration is very remarkably similar to Venetian mirrors of the period. The glass has been replaced with a bevelled edge glass in early 20thc it is thought. Very elegant and has five ledges for ornaments or similar.
