An attractive set of four Danish-style Wishbone dining chairs, inspired by the iconic CH24 design created by the celebrated Danish furniture designer Hans J. Wegner (1914–2007) in 1949.
Late 20thc, these well-proportioned replica chairs capture the elegant simplicity and organic flowing lines associated with the Danish Modern movement.
Each chair features a beautifully curved bentwood armrest and back rail, supported by the distinctive Y-shaped central splat, which gives the Wishbone chair its instantly recognisable silhouette.
The chairs are constructed with beech legs and frames, displaying an attractive warm honey-coloured finish. The seats are handwoven in contrasting very dark brown paper cord rope, arranged in the traditional envelope-weave pattern, providing both comfort and durability.
The gently tapering legs, shaped stretchers and sculptural bentwood backrests combine to create a particularly pleasing balance between traditional craftsmanship and modernist design.
Although later interpretations rather than original Carl Hansen & Søn production examples, these chairs faithfully reflect the timeless aesthetic of Wegner’s celebrated design.
Their elegant proportions and contrasting black woven seats make them particularly versatile, equally at home around a traditional farmhouse table, in a contemporary dining room or within a mid-century modern interior.
A stylish and highly decorative set of four Wishbone dining chairs, combining Scandinavian-inspired craftsmanship with one of the most enduring furniture designs of the twentieth century.
