Lucien Delarue was born on November 10th, 1925 in Nantes, France. Delarue was the pupil of Maitre Yves Brayer in the studios of Grande Chaumiere, Paris. He took part in exhibitions and was crowned with a first prize and the Vermeil-Medaille. Delarue was awarded a gold medal at the Salon of Vincennes and a bronze medal of the most important exhibition of paris, the Arts-Sciences-Lettres. His paintings were shown at the museum of ile de france in the Chateau of Sceaux. Further exhibitions were held in New York and San Francisco. Delarue received the gold medal of the Salon of Clichy and his paintings were purchased by the municipalities of Paris and Clichy. The paintings of Lucien Delarue are on permanent exhibition with Arnot Gallery, New York, who has purchased and represented mr. Delarue’s paintings since the 1960s. Unfortunately, mr. Delarue had fallen ill with a deteriorating condition of alshaimers desease, and has not painted since 1998. A pupil of Yves Brayer in the studios of Grande Chaumiere in Paris, he was awarded a gold medal at the Salon of Vincennes and a bronze medal of the most important exhibitions of Paris, the “Arts-Sciences-Lettres.” For his fascinating watercolors, he won first prize at the Salon of Deauville.
