A Dutch impressionist of cities, maritime and landscapes in naturalistic style. He graduated from the Academy of Art Utrect, a student of professor Chris Van Agterberga and G Nijenhosia. During the war he rented a room in a monastery and started painting. Later he had his own rooms in the Choorstraat where he set up a studio in the catacombs.Together with Peter Brouwer he settled in Schoorl where the two of them were painting together all day long till the very last day before John Bévor’s death. Bévor hated to be alone, he lived his life to the full and liked to share it with his family and friends. In his paintings we can see his abundant love of nature and culture and he painted with great feeling and depth. Beaches, dunes and towns were his main sources of inspiration. He was a prominent member of international organisation of Free Art. Currently being re framed.
